I'm delighted to see that a new edition of Operation World is due to be published tomorrow.
Amazon are showing a price of £11.14 for the paperback; or £21.24 for the paperback book and a CD-ROM copy. It is also available in hardcover.
The last full revision of Operation World was done in 2001, and it reads as though it was 9 years out of date. The political landscape of the world changes fast.
The research that goes into Operation World is meticulous and impressive. Indeed, parts of this new edition already sound a little dated, because they can't keep going over each detail to check it. This is the best guide there is, by a long way, to praying for the nations of this world. We are given facts and figures, answers to prayer, and matters for fresh petition for each country. Given the nations of the world belong to Jesus Christ, according to Matthew 28:16-20, it's good to be informed about the progress of each nation towards joyfully bowing the knee to him, so that we can pray intelligently.

and just out of curiosity,
and just out of curiosity, which parts of the book seem dated already? some things indeed change fast, but other things seem to never change - and some of the prayer requests in the 2010 edition sound quite familiar to the 1993 edition....perhaps we are all not praying faithfully enough?

I'm still waiting for my copy of the print edition, but there is a sample of the new book online at http://www.ibsdirect.com/download/AuthenticProducts/9781606571057.pdf. Look at Zimbabwe, it talks of the political party MDC being the likely 2008 election winners.
I'm sure that the book is as up to date as it is humanly possible to be
