I've recommended to several of my friends that they try the subscription service over at Has Bean Coffee. It's called In My Mug, and you can order to receive a different coffee every time - either weekly, fortnightly or monthly, over either a month, quarter, half-year or full year. The coffees are very different from one another, and are all absolutely first class (even if you prefer some to others), as you'd expect from HasBean and Stephen Leighton. There's also a video channel that allows you to watch an informative, often entertaining, c. 10-15 minute video about the farm, the farmer, the coffee, the country that you're drinking.
All of that is old hat - I'd still recommend it.
But, if you like the idea of one coffee a month for 12 months, here's something a little different. It's the same price.
Meet Steve's Super Secret Stash Subscription. This is the second year he's done this, and last year's coffees were all really very good indeed. Basically, there are some coffee that Steve Leighton is particularly fond of, but that for one reason or another won't make it onto the main HasBean site. You can't buy them as a one-off coffee, and they won't go out as part of InMyMug. Maybe the lot size from the farm was too small - this is a niche coffee that is only available as the tiniest harvest. Maybe Steve likes it too much. Maybe the flavours are slightly eccentric.
This SSSSS subscription gives a way to have these sent to you at the start of each month throughout 2016. I think you're getting better, more unusual, probably more pricey coffee than InMyMug would give you, at the same price. As I say, the 2015 ones were stunning every single time.
But you have to be quick. Because of the small lot sizes of some of these, there are only 300 subscriptions up for sale. Actually, I happen to know that's already down at least to 299, because I know a man who's already ordered.
